We are delighted to announce that, from 1 April 2026, the Construction Clients' Leadership Group (CCLG) will become part of Constructing Excellence (CE).

With roots dating back to the mid-1990s, CCLG is an independent organisation representing both public and private sector clients. It is committed to delivering better outcomes for society, the economy, and the environment through collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.

Constructing Excellence and CCLG share a clear vision for creating a better built environment. Achieving this requires stronger alignment between clients and the supply chain to unlock improved productivity and deliver safer, more sustainable outcomes that better serve society. Both organisations are focused on providing non-commercial, trusted spaces where members can share knowledge and best practice, gaining the insights needed to drive meaningful improvements within their organisations and projects.

Over recent years, CE and CCLG have worked closely together through joint events and initiatives. This integration brings together two influential voices in construction, creating new opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and learning that will benefit clients, suppliers, and the wider built environment ecosystem.

“Having worked with the Construction Clients Leadership Group and Constructing Excellence for many years, I am very excited for the two organisations to come together. There are many ways that the combined organisation will be able to serve the construction industry better than as two separate bodies.”

Phil Wilbraham, Chair of the BRE Trust

“CCLG joining Constructing Excellence brings two communities with a shared belief in practical collaboration under one roof. By aligning the client perspective with CE’s convening power, we can turn good intent into repeatable outcomes—better value, safer delivery and higher standards. It’s exactly what our construction strategy calls for: maximising opportunities to deepen collaboration wherever possible, reducing duplication and helping partners learn faster from what works.”

Henrietta Frater, Head of Safety First at the Crown Estate
